Blackbird is looking for positive, experienced full service restaurant + pub bartenders for our Summer season! This is a summertime tipped position. Your sales and service ability dictate what you make. If you enjoy talking to people and thrive in a fast-paced team oriented workplace, we’d like to meet you. Your ultimate goal will be to provide high-quality service that keeps our guests coming back for more!

If you answered yes to any of these - you may be the Bartender we’re looking for! The Blackbird Waterhouse is searching for ambitious and talented team players to fill our bartender positions and work along side our core team of staff. Full and Part-time shifts available.


  • The desire to hustle and be at least 21 years of age.

  • Ability to work holidays and weekends.

  • Previous Bartender experience required.

  • TIPs / ServSafe Certification a plus.


Plan for and deliver a positive and personal experience for all guests seated at the bar. Treat staff and other guests throughout restaurant as you wish to be treated, yourself.


  • Has an understanding of all food menu items: the ingredients; the preparation; how items are served and with which sides.

  • Has complete knowledge of all drink menu items: knows the alcohol, wine and beer listings, where they are crafted and can also inform guests about the local wineries and breweries in S.W Michigan along the Makers Trail.

  • Executes drink recipes accurately to consistently delivery the same drink every time.

  • Knows the daily food & drink specials and pricing to be able to sell them.

  • Runs the bar like a boss and keeps bar area extremely clean.

  • Arrives on time, dressed in uniform, ready to hustle.

  • Greets all customers immediately when sitting at the bar.

  • Can go into beast mode when the place is packed.

  • Open to Tip sharing and is able to work well with others behind the bar and in managing service in the pub with partners

  • Dependable and accountable to consistently execute open/close duties.

  • Keeps necessary records of liquor, wine and beer inventory after shift.

  • Admits mistakes and believes honesty is the best policy.

  • Works well with others and can leave outside drama at the door.

  • When needed: always answers the phone promptly, kindly and has accurate knowledge of our hours, policies, weekly specials and events.
